Welcome to Studio 131

Acoustic Guitars - there's a nice Charvel 550 TSB when mic'ed up with a couple of condenser mics it sounds great! Songwriters welcome!

Our trusty microphones - Main vox Rode NT1 or Audio Technica AT 2020, AT 2021 and AT 3528 pencil type condensers, 2 x Shure 57s, AKG DII Mk2 is handy for kick drum and a spare Sennheiser E825s. We love the results from these mics!

Guitars & Amps. Most people bring their own gear but it's useful to know there is extra house stuff here if needed; Fender Princeton amp. The go-to guitar here is that Squier Strat (pictured) for a single pup sound, but there are others if you need em. Tasty collection of pedals as well. BYO fresh strings if  you want to borrow house guitars.

Bass. There's a good Squier precision type bass and a cheap SX precision thing which we use all the time - both of them are good enough to record with. We can help play guitars, bass or keyboards on your track if needed. We can help you find 3rd party session players if you need em.

Pre-production Checklist!
1)
Do you have a finished and rehearsed song that you perform from beginning to end? Great!
2) Record this track on your phones voice recorder and send it in, plus send links to any previous productions you may have done for reference.
3) Drummers - get involved early so we can figure out a recording plan.
4) Guitarists! Have you got fresh strings, a tuner, cables, pedals, batteries etc all organized and ready to go?
5)
Singers! Have you memorized the lyrics or have them on your phone or printed out ready to go? Is it in the right key for your voice? Can you hit the hi notes?
Awesome sounds like you are ready to book the studio!
Note:
While it's good to be organized, the recording process itself will be fun and relaxed, even if you are nervous or fuck up it doesn't matter because you can do heaps of takes, and we'll only use the best one - we make it fun and easy. NEXT
